Nag Panchami 2026: Date, Puja Vidhi, Muhurat, Vrat Katha and Significance

Nag Panchami is one of the most sacred festivals in Sanatan Dharma. Dedicated to the worship of Nag Devtas (serpent deities), this festival is celebrated during the holy month of Shravan.

In Hindu tradition, snakes are not viewed merely as reptiles. They are considered divine protectors associated with Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu, fertility, rainfall, and the balance of nature.

On this auspicious day, devotees offer prayers to Nag Devtas and seek blessings for prosperity, family well-being, protection from negative energies, and relief from planetary afflictions such as Rahu-Ketu Dosha and Kaal Sarp Dosha. According to traditional Panchang calculations, Nag Panchami 2026 will be celebrated on Monday, 17 August 2026. This year’s celebration is considered especially auspicious because it coincides with Monday, the day dedicated to Lord Shiva.
